Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers in the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27^th of January, 2021 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in indexed journals indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI), Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) or Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) 2020 and; other than those who indexed in above mentioned indexes were appreciated. Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice- Chancellor of the university. Moreover, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. Deepthi de Silva, Department of Physiology, Prof. Sachith Mettananda, Department of Pediatrics, Prof. A.L. Karunanayake and Senior Lecturer Dr. R.M.S.L. Ranaweera, Department of Anatomy, Prof. P.A.D.H.N. Gunathilaka,  Department of Parasitology, Senior Lecturer Dr. H.M.R.P. Herath, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Temporary Senior Lecturer Dr. Tharaka Wijerathna are the awardees from Faculty of Medicine.

Senior Lecturer Dr. C.S.K. Rajapakse, Senior Lecturer and Senior Lecturer Dr. M.P. Deeyamulla, Department of Chemistry, Senior Lecturer Dr. K.P.R.N. Attanayake, Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Dr. A.P. Hewaarachchi, Department of Statistics and Computer Science are the awardees from Faculty of Science.

Prof. C.D. Senaratne, Department of English Language Teaching is the awardee from Faculty of Humanities. Prof. M.G. Kularatne, Department of Economics is the awardee from Faculty of Social Sciences. Furthermore, Senior Assistant Librarian Dr. M.I.G.S. Sampath and Ms. Mahadula I.P. Kumari, Instructor in Physical Education – Physical Education Unit received the Senate Awards at the ceremony.
