A felicitation ceremony to admire the service of retired Prof. S.J. Yogarajah of the Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, was held on 29^th of October 219 at the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.

The felicitation volume to honor Professor, titled “Moliyamirdam” edited by Senior Prof. W. M. Wijerathna and Senior Prof. Janaki Wijesekara, was also launched at this ceremony.

The key note speech of this ceremony was delivered by Prof. Rathnasiri Arangala of the Department of Sinhala, University of Sri Jayawardenepura.

Professor Patrick Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Prof. A.H.M.H. Abayaratna, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Saminathan Wimal of the Department of Linguistics and English, University of Jaffna; retired Professor K. Karunanidhi of the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo; and academic staff members and students of the Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, University of Peradeniya, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, University of Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka also participated in this ceremony.
