National Research Conference on Applied Social Statistics 2019 and PHRONESIS MIND Inter-departmental and Inter School Quiz Competition 2019 organized by Department of Social Statistics was held on 03^rd of December 2019 at the auditorium of Faculty of Social Sciences.

The main objective of the conference was to develop presentation skills, general knowledge and other soft skills of school students and undergraduates.

Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya was the chief guest for the event while, the other honorary guests participated in the event included Prof. A.H.M.H. Abayarathna, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil-Chandra, Chairman- Research Council, Prof. M.G. Kularathne, Director- Research Center for Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Dr. Manjula Gunarathna, Head- Department of Social Statistics & staff members, Mrs. Hemantha Ekanayake, Additional Director- Statistics Department, Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Researches & undergraduates participated for the events.
