The 03^rd National Conference of Undergraduates on Environment and Development (NCUED) was held on 03^rd of January, 2020 at the auditorium of the faculty of Social Sciences.

The conference was organized by the Department of Geography, University of Kelaniya while it was themed on “Towards Sustainability; Achieving Sustainable Development Goals.”

 The prime objective of the occasion was to motivate the researchers to explore new horizons and offer new sights from a range of academic disciplines such as Geography, Development Studies, Political Sciences, International Studies, Economics, Philosophy, Pali and Buddhist Studies and Mass Communication.

 Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya graced the event as the chief guest while, the keynote speech was delivered by Senior Prof. P. Hewage, Head- Department of Geography, University of Ruhuna.

 Also, the distinguished guests present at the occasion were Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. N.P. Sunil- Chandra, Chairman- Research Council, Prof. M.G. Kularathna, Director- Research Centre, Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Dr. Nishan Sakalsooriya, Head- Department of Geography, Prof. Lal Mervin Dharmasiri, Lecturer Sampath Arunashantha, Coordinator- NCUED, Academic staff, researchers along with the undergraduates of the Department of Geography and the invitees attended the occasion.
