The 138^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 14^th of September 2023 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 03 sessions. During the 1^st session, 7 graduands of Bachelor of Business Management (General) Degree offered by the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, 207 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities, and 290 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were conferred.

During the 2^nd session, 300 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, and 200 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities were conferred.

During the 3^rd session, while 430 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, 70 graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities were conferred.

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Aggamahapandit, Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Registrar, Librarian, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centers, Heads of the Departments, academic, and non-academic staff members and parents of the graduates were among the participants of this special ceremony.
