The 137^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 18^th of August 2023 at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 03 sessions. During the 01^st session, 01 Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature, 11 graduands of Doctor of Philosophy degree, 01 graduands of Master of Philosophy degree, 412 graduands of Master of Arts degree, 77 graduands of Postgraduate Diploma, 01 Gold Medal, 01 Silver Medal, and 03 Merit Awards were conferred.

Furthermore, 230 graduands of Bachelor of Business Management (Special) degree, 176 graduands of Bachelor of Commerce (Special) degree, and 14 Gold Medals were conferred in the 02^nd session, while 158 graduands of Bachelor of Business Management (Special) degree, 96 graduands of Bachelor of Business Management (Honors) degree, 11 graduands of Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree, 43 graduands of Bachelor of Science degree and 11 Gold Medals were conferred during the 03^rd session.

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Aggamahapandit, Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Registrar, Librarian, Deans, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centers, Heads of Departments, Academic, and Non-academic staff members and Parents of the graduates were among the participants of this special ceremony.
