The scholarly discussion on “Kodi Gaha Yata”, a popular teledrama telecast on Independent Television Network (ITN) based on a screenplay by Aruna Premaratne and directed by Jagath Manuwarna, was held on the 26^th of September at the Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.

This was organized by the Communication and Media Unit, Department of Drama, Cinema and Television, and Arts Council of the University of Kelaniya.

The objective of this discussion was to discuss the current art of teledrama and the teledrama “Kodi Gaha Yata”. Senior Lecturer Upul Jayantha Ranepura, Head of the Department of Drama, Cinema and Television explained the objective of the event addressing the gathering.

Senior Lecturer Priyankara Rathnayaka, Senior Lecturer Dr. Anusha Edirisinghe, Director of the Centre for Gender Studies, Mr. Sudarshana Gunawardana, Chairman of the ITN, Mr. Aruna Premaratne, Mr. Jagath Manuwarna, Mr. Priyantha Kodippili expressed their ideas addressing the event. The conclusion and the vote of thanks were conducted by Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Director of the Communication and Media Unit.
