Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 24^th of October 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. H. A. K. N. S. Surangi of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management was the awardee from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Prof. Niranga Manjuri Devanarayana of the Department of Physiology, Prof. W. R. P. L. I. Wijesooriya of the Department of Medical Microbiology, and Prof. Sachith Mettananda of the Department of Pediatrics were the awardees from the Faculty of Medicine.

Prof. D. S. M. De Silva of the Department of Chemistry, Prof. I. V. N. Rathnayake of the Department of Microbiology, Prof. Dinushani Anupama Daranagama of the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Dr. H. M. T. R. Samarakoon, Dr. Achini Koshila Ranasinghe, Dr. B. G. N. Sewwandi, and Ms. S. A. Pamudi Tharindra Samaraweera of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, and Dr. Thilini Mahanama of the Department of Industrial Management were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Dr. Ruwan Wickramarachchi, Dr. Thilini Mahanama, Ms. L. H. Ishenka Udeshinie Fernando, and Ms. A. P. K. Jinendri Prasadika of the Department of Industrial Management from the Faculty of Science were awarded Senate Honours for conference presentations published as full papers.

Senior Prof. S. R. D. Kalingamudali of the Department of Physics and Electronics from the Faculty of Science was awarded Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for Research Leading Patent Outcome.
