Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26^th of June 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Dr. Gonaduwage Nilantha Roshan Perera from the Department of Marketing Management was the awardee from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Senior Prof. Y. I. Nilmini Silva Gunawardene from the Molecular Medicine Unit, Dr. Pavithra K.S. Godamunne from the Department of Medical Education, and Dr. Gayana P. S. Gunaratna from the Department of Medical Microbiology were the awardees from the Faculty of Medicine.

Prof. M. P. Deeyamulla from the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Isuru Udayangani Hewapathirana from the Software Engineering Teaching Unit were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Mr. P. D. Avantha Prasad from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Science was awarded Senate Honours for Research Leading to Intellectual Property Outcomes other than Patents.
