The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and four Sri Lankan universities signed projects agreements totaling $145 million under the ADB funded Science and Technology Human Resources Development project to foster science and technology in Sri Lanka’s higher education on the 14^th of February 2019 at the ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission Office in Colombo.

Ms. Sri Widowati, ADB Country Director in Sri Lanka signed the project agreements on behalf of ADB while the Vice- Chancellors Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Dr. B.A. Karunarathna and Prof. M. Sunil Shantha signed for the University of Kelaniya, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Rajarata University and Sabaragamuwa University, respectively.
