Sri Lanka Karate Do-Federation conducted the Final selections of Karate for the 2022 Asian Games also known as XIX Asiad on the 27^th of January 2022 at the Indoor Stadium, Bandaragama.

2022 Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China.

Dinuwara Randil Perera, a member of UoK Karate Men Team, a first-year student of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies had won the first place in Male Kata event. Dinuwara is the current rank number one player in the Kata event in the high-performance Karate Pool in Sri Lanka and a medal prospecting player in the Karate Kata event at the Asian Games for Sri Lanka.

Lasini Amunugama, Karate Women Captain, a third-year student of Faculty of Science, Chemistry Honours had won second place in the Female Kata event.
