Sri Lanka Universities Basketball Women Team emerged as the winner of level 2 of the 53^rd Senior National Basketball Tournament 2021, organized by the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation and BDBA.

The Championship was held from 28-30 January 2022 at Miani Technical Institute in Batticaloa. SL Universities Women Basketball Team won this title in the 52^nd Senior National Basketball Tournament 2020 as well.

SL Universities team defeated Rathnapura District Team by 64-38 in the first round and Batticaloa District team by 65-49 in the Semi-Final. SL Universities team defeated the Gampaha District team by 57-51 in the final.

Sri Lanka Universities Basketball Team was comprised of top performed Basketball players from the member universities of, Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA). The team selection, training, and submission for the tournament were done by the Basketball sub-committee of SLUSA.

Sri Lanka Universities Women Team was led by Ms. R.L. Chathuri Hashani, an undergraduate in her 4^th and final academic year of Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. Chathuri was a member of the winning team in the 52^nd Senior National Basketball Tournament and she was awarded as the Best Player of Level 2. She won university colours and was awarded as the Best Performer in Basketball (Women) in the academic year 2018/2019 (2019) and in SLUSA Colours in 2018.

Chathuri was the Basketball (Women) captain of the University of Kelaniya in the academic year 2018/2019 (2020) and represented Sri Lanka in the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy in 2021.
