The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Sustainability Leadership Training Programme (SLTP) for Youth (6^th cycle) was held on the 8^th of June 2023 at the senate room of the University of Kelaniya.

The Awarding Ceremony was organized by the Centre for Sustainability Solutions (CSS) of the university.

The Deputy Director of the CSS and the coordinator of the SLTP, Dr. Pansujee Dissanayake introduced the objectives and the outline of the program. The SLTP certificate course is annually offered to all undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya by the CSS, with the objective of improving their knowledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inculcating attitudes toward volunteering and environmental conservation.

Students who completed the SLTP course were awarded certificates by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, and the Registrar of the University, Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka. The vice chancellor complimented the students on their accomplishments and urged them to keep supporting efforts to minimize the impacts of climate change and raise awareness of SDGs.

In conjunction with this award ceremony, CSS launched the 2^nd edition of the “GreenInsights” e-magazine. CSS publishes “GreenInsights” with the objective of providing a platform to showcase SGD-related research.  This edition also has a substantial number of articles from various colleges across the country covering a broader range of topics. The director of the CSS Dr. Wasanthi Subasinghe acknowledged the efforts of the editor Mr. Hashan Wijesinghe and the distinguished panel of reviewers in publishing “GreenInsight”.

The event was attended by members of the CSS and undergraduates.
