Counselor Zhang Yingbao of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call to Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Kelaniya on the 13^th of July 2023.

The two sides had friendly and enthusiastic exchanges on the construction and development of the Confucius Institute at the University of Kelaniya, as well as topics of common concern, and fully affirmed the achievements made by the Confucius Institute at the University of Kelaniya.

Ms. Li Qingrui - First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Venerable Professor Nedalagamuwe Dhammadinna Thero - Head of the Department of Modern Languages of the University of Kelaniya, Dr. Wu Hongyuan, and Dr. Jani Samarakoon, the Chinese and Sri Lankan Co-directors of Confucius Institute, University of Kelaniya were also present at the occasion.
