Ms. Nimaya Manudewa, the recently appointed Regional Officer of the German Academic Exchange Service

(DAAD) Information Point, Colombo, called upon Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya on the 15^th of August 2023 at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The event was organized by the Centre for International Affairs, University of Kelaniya.

The main objective of this meeting was to introduce the newly appointed Regional Officer of the German Academic Exchange Service and discuss future collaboration.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva participated as the Chief Guest of the event.

The DAAD has been providing scholarships for staff and students of the University of Kelaniya for well over three decades in different disciplines and both members of the academic staff and undergraduates have benefited from these opportunities. Accordingly, during this meeting, further discussions were held on enhancing avenues for future collaboration.

Present at the meeting were Senior Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, the Director of the Centre for International Affairs, Senior Lecturer Dr. Ishanka Karunarathna of the Department of Human Resources Management and DAAD Ambassador for Research, and Ms. Sanduni Iddamalgoda, Coordinator of International Student Affairs.
