The First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme, organized by the Health and Safety Service Committee of the University of Kelaniya, was held under the theme " Strength for Life through First Aid Knowledge," on the 13^th of February 2025, at the Main Auditorium of the Medical Center, University of Kelaniya.

The primary purpose of this workshop was to enhance basic knowledge and skills related to the safety and health of the staff members of the university.

The event was honoured by the presence of  Ms. Pushpa Ramyani De Soyza, Chief Nurse Training Officer at Colombo National Hospital, as the Chief Guest.

The workshop, organized under the guidance of Professor M. A. Y. L. Nadeesha, Chairman of the Health and Safety Service Committee; Dr. Chinthaka Rathnayake, Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Centre; and Mr. Namal Bandara, Chief Security Officer, was conducted in line with the concept of Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The workshop was held for Security Officers, Assistant Student Counsellors, and Part-Time Sub Wardens.

The event was graced by the presence of Professor M. A. Y. L. Nadeesha, Chairman of the Health and Safety Service Committee; Dr. Chinthaka Rathnayake, Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Centre; Mr. Namal Bandara, Chief Security Officer; officers of the Security Department of the University of Kelaniya; Assistant Students Counsellors, and Part-Time Sub Wardens.
