An MoU Signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Kansarmen SL Foundation (KSLF)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Kansarmen SL Foundation (KSLF) on the 2nd of April 2025 at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya.
The primary objective of this MoU was to identify and implement water and sanitation projects across Sri Lanka through a collaborative effort between the University of Kelaniya and KSLF. This partnership is expected to significantly contribute to infrastructure development, community engagement, and long-term sustainability in the water and sanitation sector.
Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya; Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University; Dr. C. W. Subasinghe, Director of the Centre for Sustainability Solutions (CSS); and Dr. D. M. P. V. Dissanayake, Deputy Director of CSS signed the MoU representing the University of Kelaniya. Signing on behalf of Kansarmen SL Foundation were Mr. D. Chaminda Fernandopulle, Executive Director; Ms. A. C. Janani Sumanapala, Manager Operations; Mr. D. P. Fernandopulle, Admin & Finance Executive; and Ms. P. A. Nayani Lakshika Perera, Program Officer.
Additionally, Dr. Amila Jeewandara from the Faculty of Computing and Technology and Mr. Indunil Ranwella from the Faculty of Social Sciences participated as faculty representatives of CSS. Their presence underscored the interdisciplinary nature of the initiative and the university’s commitment to sustainability through academic collaboration.
