The official launching ceremony of the song "Megha Wala Galanne..." took place on April 9, 2025, at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya, under the patronage of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The event was organized by the university’s Communication and Media Unit, under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Director of the Communication and Media Unit.

Composed with lyrics by Senior Lecturer Lanka De Silva from the Department of Fine Arts, University of Kelaniya and visuals by Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Director of the Communication and Media Unit, the song is sung by Lecturer Visharad Darshana Pramod Nissanka from the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, with music composed by Senior Lecturer Chandana Ruwan from the Department of Fine Arts, University of Kelaniya.

The song's visual was made possible with the financial support of the Faculty of Humanities Development Fund.

The event was graced by Senior Professor Sudath R. D. Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Professor Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Professor M. M.
