The Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with Hayleys Fentons Limited and LED KLN, successfully conducted NEXUS 2026 – Internship Opportunities at Hayleys Fentons on 17 July 2026 at the F11 Hall, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya.

The two-hour workshop was conducted by Ms Lalani Weeraarachchi, General Manager – Human Resources, Hayleys Fentons Limited, and Mr Ashan Galabadage, Senior Manager – Learning & Development, Human Resources, Hayleys Fentons Limited, to enhance undergraduates’ knowledge of effective CV writing and interview techniques. The workshop covered two key areas: crafting an impactful CV and facing job interviews with confidence. Through interactive sessions and practical guidance, participants gained valuable insights into professional development and strategies for improving their employability.

As part of the programme, Hayleys Fentons also conducted internship interviews for undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya at the Career Guidance Unit Auditorium, providing students with a valuable opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for internship placements. A total of 55 registered undergraduates from the University of Kelaniya participated in the workshop and interview sessions.

The event was attended by Mr K. A. M. Viraj Abeysinghe and Mrs R. P. A. Minoon Perera, Career Counsellors of the Career Guidance Unit, together with the organizing committee members of LED KLN, whose support contributed to the successful implementation of the programme.
