The Third of the Programme Series “Love & Humanity”

The third programme of the programme series: “Love and Humanity” organized by the Centre for Gender Studies under the assistance of the Student Welfare Division, University of Kelaniya was held on the 12th of December 2018 at Yakkaduwe Pagnarama Boys’ Hostel of the University of Kelaniya. The prime objective of this programme which aimed at first year undergraduates, was to develop cooperation among undergraduates through love and humanity.
Director of Sri Lanka Foundation, Veteran Mental Health Analyst and Chartered Biologist, Dr. Saman Weerasinghe was the resource person of the event and he expressed his ideas on how to lead a meaningful university life and thus, how to develop the thinking power. It was a novel and fantastic experience for the undergraduates as a result of the practical activities.
Present at the occasion were Senior Lecturer Dr. Anusha Edirisinghe, Director- Centre for Gender Studies, staff members of the Centre and the Student Welfare Division. More than 200 first year undergraduates participated in the programme and it is already planned to expand the programme to other hostels of the University of Kelaniya.
