MoU between the University of Kelaniya and the Institute of Internal Auditors Lanka Chapter (IIALC)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and The Institute of Internal Auditors Lanka Chapter (IIALC) on 22nd of February 2021 at the Senate Room of University of Kelaniya (UoK).
The event was hosted by the Department of Accountancy (DoA), Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS). By identifying the real need of Forensic Accounting education in the country, DoA, UoK has been at the forefront in introducing Bachelor of Business Management (Honors) in Auditing & Forensic Accounting Degree program as the pioneers in Forensic Accounting Education in the country. And the IIALC affiliated to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), an International Professional Association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The objective of the MoU is to promote and nurture Auditing and Forensic Accounting Education and, to practice the Auditing and Forensic Accounting profession of Sri Lanka by capitalizing on the institutional strengths of both institutions. In essence, both institutions envisage to derive synergistic benefits of human and physical resources. In addition, this MoU will facilitate for sharing resources and to conduct joint research.
The event was dignified with the presence of Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor - University of Kelaniya, Dr. P. N. D. Fernando, Dean- Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. Kamal Tilakasiri, Head – Department of Accountancy, Brian Goudian, President – IIALC, Mr. D.S. Manamendra, Vice President - IIALC, and academic staff members of the DoA.
