“The Lord of the Debates - 2022” Inter-Departmental Debate Competition was held on the 19^th of October 2022 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

The competition was organized by the 2^nd year undergraduates of the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, with the objective of developing the soft skills of the undergraduates and strengthening the cooperation between the departments.

Out of the teams that participated in the debate, the teams from the Departments of Accountancy, Mathematics, Human Resource Management, Economics, Marketing Management, and Fine Arts got selected for the second round. The judgments were made by a board of judges consisting of 15 academics.

The second round of the competition will be held on the 02^nd of November 2022. “The Lord of the Debates - 2022” Grand Finale will be held on the 25^th of November along with the ‘Investment Week’ organized by the Department of Finance.

Dr. P. N. D. Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Prof. R. Abeysekera, Head of the Department of Finance, Prof. D. K. Y. Abeywardena, Head of the Department of Accountancy, and Prof. S. S. Weligamage, Department of Finance graced the event. Several other members of the academic staff along with the 2^nd year undergraduates of the Department of Finance participated in this event.
