An MoU signed between the University of Kelaniya and H R Mates Lanka (Pvt) Ltd

The University of Kelaniya signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H R Mates Lanka (Pvt) Ltd on April 20th of 2023 at the Senate room of the university, with the aim of creating a platform for undergraduates to gain HRMS training which could be a great opportunity for them.

HRIS training can be valuable for those pursuing careers in HR or related fields, and having access to a platform specifically designed for this purpose could help undergraduates gain relevant skills and experience.  This kind of training could potentially make them more competitive in the job market.

The signing ceremony was attended and addressed by several notable individuals. Vice-Chancellor Senior Professor Nilaththi De Silva addressed the audience with her thoughts on the significance of the MoU, highlighting the potential benefits it could bring to both parties. Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Prof. P. N. D. Fernando, also shared his excitement for the partnership and expressed his hope for a fruitful collaboration between the two organizations. Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, Senior Lecturer Mr. M. D. P. Pieris, offered his perspective on the role of HR in the modern business landscape and how this partnership could help prepare students for success in the field. Meanwhile, Mr. Malinda Balasooriya, Director/CEO at H R Mates Lanka, emphasized the significance of catering well-trained graduates to the industry to meet their needs. Their speeches added depth and meaning to the event and showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of the University of Kelaniya toward this new venture.

Dr. Mudith Wijesundara and Senior Lecturer M. D. P. Pieris, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management contributed immensely to form this valuable connection.
