The Central Business Incubator of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies organizes a Digital Marketing workshop

The Central Business Incubator of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies of the University of Kelaniya conducted a three-day workshop on digital marketing on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of May 2023 at the Staff Development Centre of the university.

The objective of this workshop series was to equip small and medium-scale entrepreneurs with knowledge of Digital Marketing and its applications. 

The first day of the workshop series was graced by the presence of Professor P. N. D. Fernando, Dean - Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The workshop was introduced by Dr. Srinath Dissanayake – Director of Central Business Incubator while Senior Lecturer Mr. D. K. Thilina, of the Department of Marketing Management participated as the resource person. He educated the participants on Strategic Planning for Digital Marketing.

The second workshop focused on Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Senior Lecturer Mr. Harshaka Hettiarachchi of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management expressed his practical experiences in this regard, highlighting how to make a business identical on search engines and social media. He further explained social media user behavior and how to manage digital marketing campaigns according to regions, business, and customer behaviors.

The final day was dedicated to a session on Social Media Marketing and the implication of theoretical knowledge gained in previous days conducted by Mr. Ushan Wijesekara – Founder of Thaproban Digital (Pvt) Ltd. He demonstrated the way of creating Facebook business pages, ad accounts, and how to do analysis on social media campaigns. All three lecturers provided valuable materials and databases they have developed over the years. 

About thirty individuals participated in this workshop.
