Professor Bandara Wanninayake officially assumed duties as the 6^th Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, on the 12^th of June 2023.

The new dean assumed duties while the Maha Sangha, Venerable Senior Professor Induragare Dhammaratana Thero, Venerable Professor Malwane Chandaratana Thero, and Venerable Dr. Kapugollawe Anandakiththi Thero, and Venerable Dr. Dodamkumbure Dammadassi Thero chanted seth pirith.

This ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Deans of Faculties, Registrar, Bursar, Heads of Departments, and academic and non-academic staff members of the University.

Prof. Bandara Wanninayake is a Professor in Marketing attached to the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. Further, he has served as the Head of the Department of Marketing Management. Also, he was the former Director of the Staff Development Center at the University of Kelaniya and a research consultant for several leading companies.

He’s a graduate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and holds a Ph.D. from Tomas Bata University, Czech Republic, an MBA from the University of Colombo, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.
