The opening ceremony of the Smart Learning Zone of the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies was held on Tuesday 13th June 2023 at the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya.

This Smart Learning Zone is a successful outcome of the AHEAD project of the Department of Accountancy funded by the ELTA-ELSE Development Project of the Ministry of Education offered in collaboration with the University Grants Commission and World Bank.

This learning zone is equipped with state-of-the-art technology which offers a blended learning environment to support flipped classroom pedagogy. Thus, it provides a wonderful experience for students and staff in teaching and learning activities.

The event was graced by the participation of Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University; Professor Bandara Wanninanyake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Professor Dilrukshi Abeywardhana, Head of Department of Accountancy; Dr. Amila Munasinghe, Director OTS; Professor Thamara Gunasekara, Main Coordinator of AHEAD DP, and all Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and Students of the Department of Accountancy.
