University of Kelaniya Signed MoUs with Bluebird Yinuo (Beijing) Technology Co. Ltd, China

University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka signed two Memorandums of Understanding Agreements with the Bluebird Yinuo (Beijing) Technology Co. Ltd of China. The MoUs were signed on 14 December 2023 in the senate room of the university.  The prime objective of this endeavor is to provide opportunities for Chinese students to pursue the Master of Commerce Degree program (MCOM) and the Master of Business Management (MBM) in Marketing program.

The Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies offers those two distinctive postgraduate degree programs, namely MCOM and MBM in Marketing.  These programs include a comprehensive dissertation component and are well-reputed in Sri Lanka for their novelty content and academic excellence featured with industry-linked value additions. Hence, the University of Kelaniya has a distinctive advantage in the international markets to launch these programs via strategic partners. This is a trend-setting strategic move for the University of Kelaniya to enhance its international stance as a leading national university whilst benefiting from both financial and non-financial perspectives. Additionally, this initiative would also contribute to the overall development and progress of the country whilst improving the brand image of the university amongst global stakeholders.

The MoU was signed by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, and Mr. Liu Xuemeng, General Manager of Bluebird Yinuo (Beijing) Technology  Co. Ltd., Professor W. M. C. B. Wanninayake, Dean – Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Professor Kapila Seneviratne, Dean – Faculty of Graduate Studies; Professor D. M. R. Dissanayake, Coordinator of the MBM Program; Dr. G. W. J. S. Fernando, Coordinators of the MCOM program; Professor C. Pathirawasam, Director – Quality Assurance Cell of the University of Kelaniya; Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar – University of Kelaniya and the academic members of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management and the Department of Marketing Management graced this occasion. This MOU will steer both institutions to excel in the strategic links for academic collaboration, research initiatives, knowledge sharing on modern business practices, and cultural interactions.
