MoU signed between Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and University of Kelaniya

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) on the 16th of December 2024 at the University Senate Room.
Mr. Michael Fernandopulle, Country Head, Sri Lanka, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and Mr. Nandika Buddhipala, President, National Advisory Council, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment signed the MoU representing the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment while Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya signed on behalf of the university.
The MOU was signed with the objective of offering scholarships to the undergraduates of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies to follow CISI exams in Sri Lanka and to award a recognition medal, known as the 'CISI Gold Medal,' to the graduate with the highest GPA in the Master of Professional Finance Degree programme each year.
Present at the occasion were Prof. Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Prof. J. M. R. Fernando, Head of the Department of Finance; Prof. H. A. K. N. S. Surangi, Head of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management; Prof. S. S. Weligamage, Coordinator of the Master of Professional Finance Programme; and other academic staff members of the Department of Finance and Department of Commerce and Financial Management.
