Various events to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival was organized by the Confucius Institute of the University of Kelaniya.

A webinar to introduce the Mid-Autumn festival was held online, on the 21^st of September 2022.  The history, rituals, and poems related to this Chinese festival were introduced at this webinar.

Furthermore, another event to celebrate the food and culture of the Mid-Autumn was held at 3.00 pm at the Dharmaloka Hall on the 23^rd of September 2022. This was the first event that was organized physically after the establishment of the Confucius Institute of the University. This event included many colorful items which highlighted the Chinese culture.

Dr. Sudath Senerath, Dean – Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dilrukshi Ratnayake, Head – Department of Modern Languages, Dr. Wu Hongyuan, Co-Director (China) – Confucius Institute, Dr. Jani Samarakoon, Co-Director (Sri Lanka) - Confucius Institute, members of the staff of the Chinese Unit and the Confucius Institute, and undergraduates participated in these events
