The inauguration ceremony of the 5^th batch of the Diploma in Buddhist Psychology and Counselling (2023) conducted by the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies

of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 22^nd of January 2023 at 8.45 am at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Humanities.

Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean – the Faculty of Humanities participated as the Chief Guest of the event. Senior Lecturer Mr. Tharidu Weerasinghe, Department of Human Resource Management delivered the keynote speech of the event while Senior Prof. Uditha Garusinha, Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies delivered a Special Lecture. The introductory speech for the program was delivered by Emeritus Senior Prof. Mr. Sumanapala Galmangoda upon the invitation of the course coordinator senior lecturer Dr. Gamini Wijayasinghe. Senior Prof. Ven. Makuruppe Dhammananda Thero, Head – Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Professor Ven. Naotunne Wimalagnana Thero, academic staff of the Department, and other visiting lecturers of the Course also participated in this event.
