Professor Minowa and his team from the Universities of Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan visited the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya on the 13^th of September 2023.

The main objective of this event was to discuss the future of Buddhist education in both countries. They discussed the requirements of both countries for Buddhist education. Special attention was paid to the study of Buddhist meditation and philosophy.

Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, and Professor Minowa were the chief guests of the event.

They met Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya at the Vice Chancellors’ Office at the University of Kelaniya and met Senior Professor Ven. Makuruppe Dhammananda Thero, Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Senior Professor Udita Garusinha and Senior Lecturer Ven. Deniyaye Pgnanaloka Thero.
