The book entitled “Ekamat Eka Kāleka Japan Raṭē” authored by the four alumni of the University of Kelaniya, Dr. Udara Iroshini de Silva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Modern Languages, University of Kelaniya; Dr. Samanthika Lokugamage, Senior Lecturer in Japanese, Department of Languages, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts, University of Sri Jayewardenepura; Ms. Iromi Senarathne,

Origami Instructor; and Ms. Sandamali Amarasiri Gunawardhena, Japanese Language Teacher of St. Paul’s Girls’ School, Milagiriya, was launched on the 4^th of August 2024 at the Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association.

Representing the authors, Dr. Udara Iroshini de Silva presented the book to Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of University of Kelaniya on the 12^th of August 2024 at the Vice-chancellor’s office.

The Guest Lecture was delivered by Prof. Praneeth Abhayasundara of the Department of Anthropology, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, who honoured the event as the Chief Guest.

The event was graced by the participation of the distinguished guests, including the veteran lyricist, Ven. Rambukkana Siddhartha Thero, Chairperson of Literature Advisory Board, Arts Council of Sri Lanka; and Mr. Kotaro Katsuki, Deputy Ambassador, Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka.
