30^th anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya was held on the 05^th of April 2021 at Faculty Premises. Programmes and events of great diversity were initiated throughout the day to mark this celebration.

A photography exhibition under the theme “Building a Fairer Healthier World” was organized with the collaboration of World Health Organization. It was held at Library Basement, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. The exhibition was opened with the presence of Dr. Olivia C. Nieveras, Acting Country Representative- World Health Organization.

Inauguration ceremony was held at the Main Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. Welcome speech and the Introduction to the 30^th Anniversary Celebrations programme was given by Cadre Chair and Senior Prof. Janaki Hewavisenthi, Dean- Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya as the Chair of 30th Anniversary Celebrations Organizing Committee. Student activities for the 30^th Anniversary Celebrations programme were briefed by Mr. Minura Lakshitha, Student Chair- 30^th Anniversary Celebrations Organizing Committee.

Green Practice Committee website was launched by Cadre Chair and Senior Prof. Janaki Hewavisenthi, Dean- Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. Official website of the 30^th Anniversary Celebrations was also launched. Planting of 30 endemic tree varieties in faculty premises was also a signature part of this celebration.

Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor - University of Kelaniya and Dr. Olivia C. Nieveras, Acting Country Representative- World Health Organization graced the event as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Other academic staff members, students and non-academic staff members also participated.
