The Inauguration Ceremony of the 53rd Ten-Day International Teaching Seminar on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention (ISCEP 2024), organized by the International Society of Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention in collaboration with the World Heart Federation, and co-hosted by RemediumOne and the University of Kelaniya,

was held on the 13^th of October 2024, at the Jetwing Hotel premises in Colombo 07, Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the ISCEP 2024 conference will continue to be held from 13^th to 24^th of October 2024.

The ISCEP 2024 conference will foster international collaboration between cardiologists, clinicians, scientists, and epidemiologists. Extensive training in epidemiology principles and cardiovascular disease prevention will also be provided. Also, The seminar aims to equip participants with a strong foundation in epidemiologic principles, concepts, and methods, along with biostatistics, through practical examples drawn from cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention, and to enhance local and international research in the prevention and management of heart disease, facilitate knowledge sharing, and collaborate to effectively address global heart health challenges.

This year’s seminar will bring together 40 fellows from across the world, guided by 10 internationally recognized faculty who are experts in cardiovascular disease (CVD) epidemiology and prevention. They will engage in hands-on training and collaboration with international experts in cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention.

Prof. H. Asita de Silva, Senior Professor in Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, is actively involved as a faculty member in the conference.
