The 4^th Annual Meeting of the Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia Patient Support Society, organized by the Haematology Laboratory of the Pathology Department, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, was held on the 16^th of October 2024 at the Main Auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

The main objective of this initiative was to enhance patient support among patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.

Professor Madawa Chandratilake, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful address. Several distinguished Hematologists also participated as honourable invitees.

Professor Senani Williams, Advisor of the CMLPSS, also addressed the gathering regarding the commencement of the clinic and availability of medication. Dr. Sandeepani Wijethilake, Postgraduate Trainee in Hematology, informed the audience regarding “The Importance of compliance in CML” which was well received by the audience.

The event witnessed active participation from patients, academic and non-academic staff, as well as undergraduate students from the Faculty of Medicine.
