The inauguration ceremony of the Orientation Programme for the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, was held on the 10^th of March 2025 at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the university. The event was organized by the Faculty of Science to welcome the new undergraduates of the 2023/2024 intake.

The key speakers at the ceremony included Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor Sudath R. D. Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, Registrar of the University of Kelaniya, who addressed the new undergraduates. The Orientation Programme will continue until the 14^th of March 2025, followed by the commencement of academic activities on the 17^th of March 2025.

The event was graced by the presence of the Heads of departments and units of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Kasun Fernando, Director of Student Affairs; Senior Academic Advisors of the Faculty of Science; Dr. K. D. Binuka H. Gunawardena, Senior Student Counsellor of the Faculty of Science; academic staff members; academic support staff; Ms. S. Nagarajah, Senior Assistant Registrar of the Faculty of Science; and the non-academic staff of the Faculty of Science.
