“SCSE 2025” - The 8th International Research Conference on Smart Computing and Systems Engineering

The 8th International Research Conference on Smart Computing and Systems Engineering 2025, proudly organized by the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, was held on April 3, 2025, at the Department Auditorium.

At the crossroads of innovation and intelligence, where groundbreaking research and transformative ideas shape the future of smart computing and systems engineering, this conference was more than just another event, it served as a platform for collaboration, inspiration, and progress.

The conference was graced by the presence of Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, as the Chief Guest, while Senior Professor Koliya Pulasinghe, Professor in Information Technology, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), attended as the Keynote Speaker of the conference. Other distinguished guests included Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Sachith Mettananda, Chairman, Research Council; Professor Janaka Wijayanayake, Head of the Department of Industrial Management; Mr. Dinesh Asanka, the Conference Chair; and Dr. S. Angalaesvari, from Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, India, alongside other SCSE 2025 committee members.

With the objective of creating a one of a kind, vibrant platform for researchers to explore, discuss, and bring their research ideas to fruition, the conference successfully brought together academics and professionals from around the world. With 453 submissions from countries such as Australia, the UK, Japan, and India, the conference maintained a highly competitive acceptance rate of 25%.

SCSE 2025 featured insightful keynote speeches, technical sessions, and industry collaborations, highlighting the latest advancements shaping our future. Covering topics ranging from artificial intelligence and machine learning to innovation, resilience, and supply chain management, the conference served as a platform to explore the transformative potential of these dynamic fields. Additionally, it fostered discussions on cutting edge technologies, showcasing their role in transforming industries, enhancing efficiency, and redefining the way we live, work, and connect with the world.

Additionally, the event was attended by Professor M. M. Gunatilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities;  and the academic staff of the university along with the students.
