Mathematics Colloquium – October 2025 Held at the University of Kelaniya

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Kelaniya successfully held the Mathematics Colloquium – October 2025 Session on 30th October 2025 at the Faculty Board Room, Faculty of Science.

The Mathematics Colloquium – October 2025 Session aimed to foster academic dialogue and collaboration within the mathematical community by providing a platform for sharing current research and exploring emerging ideas.

During the event, Dr. Lashi Bandara, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Deakin University, Australia delivered an insightful talk on his research at the intersection of geometry and analysis, focusing on operator methods and index theory in settings with boundaries. Through the presentation by Dr. Lashi Bandara, the session sought to deepen participants’ understanding of contemporary developments at the intersection of geometry and analysis, particularly in the study of differential operators and index theory. The colloquium aspires to inspire scholarly engagement, stimulate research discussions, and strengthen connections among faculty, researchers, and students.

The session provided a valuable platform for our academic community to engage in enriching discussions and share ideas on contemporary mathematical research. The event was graced by the presence of the academic staff members of the faculty, together with Mathematics Honours degree students.
