A seminar on Analysis and Application Basics jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya and Research and Service Centre was held on the 14th of December 2018 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Science.

This was organized with the objective of promoting new job opportunities and making the students aware of the postgraduate study opportunities. Nishika Mampitiya, AI & Analytics leader in the Financial Services industry in Toronto, Canada was the resource person of the seminar. She conducted her lecture on promoting new job opportunities, postgraduate study opportunities, types of data, analysis projects, value utilization of analysis, static data language concept and information planning. Nishika Mampitiya holds a Master's degree in Analytics from Queens University, Kingston, Canada, and Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (Honours) from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Present at the occasion were Senior Lecturer Dr. K.K.R. Perera. Head- Department of Mathematics, academic staff members of the Department and other Departments, undergraduates of the Department of mathematics and Statistics & Computer Science.
