“Prof. Shelton Gunaratne Merit Scholarship” was awarded to ten students of the academic year 2016/17 who are reading for Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Mass Communication.

Award Ceremony was held on the 12^th of July 2020 at Board Room of Faculty of Social Sciences while the board meeting of Faculty of Social Sciences.

The Merit Scholarships were awarded by Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Kelaniya. Senior Lecturer Aruna Lokuliyana, Head- Department of Mass Communication, Heads of other Departments & Members of Faculty Board of Social Sciences graced the event.

Below mentioned ten students from the academic year 2016/2017 received 5000 rupees during this ceremony.
