Dr. Chaminda Abeysinghe assumed his duties as the Head of the Department of International Studies on 09.03.2022

Dr. Chaminda Abeysinghe who was instrumental in establishing the Department of International Studies obtained his BA degree from the University of Kelaniya and completed his MA and Ph.D. at the Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies-Waseda University, Japan and Graduate School of Political Science and Economics-Meiji University, Japan.

Dr. Abeysinghe has published a number of publications in reputed international journals and held a number of administrative positions in the University including the position of Director-Students’ Affairs (2015-2017). Moreover, he is currently a member of the Board of Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, and at the national level, he is also a member of the Board of Management-National Youth Corps, Ministry of Youth and Sports.
