An MoU signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

An MoU was signed between the University of Kelaniya and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) on the 16th of June 2023 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office of the University of Kelaniya.
This MoU was signed as a collaborative venture with the aim of offering training for Library and Information Science (LIS) graduates of the Department of Library and Information Science University of Kelaniya, via the Library and Information Centre attached to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Other objectives of this training opportunity included the development of skills of LIS graduates in Library automation, database management, use of KOHA software, and study of technical services. In addition to that, the LIS graduates will be offered the opportunity to apprehend valuable reference sources, rich collections of works, and other databases of the LIC, Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Present at the occasion were Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Professor M. M. Gunatilaka, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilake, the Registrar of the university, Senior Professor M. K. Weerasinghe, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Senior professor W. A. Weerasooriya of the Department of Library and Information Science, Mrs. M. K. Jayawardena, Acting Director of the Department of Communications CBSL, Mrs. Anusha, Librarian of the Library and Information Centre of CBSL, and Mr. Trevine Bastians of the Library and Information Centre of CBSL.
