A special guest lecture on “Ancient Buddhism on the West Coast of India; The Stupa at Sopara in Konkan”, organized by the Department of Archaeology, was held on the 28^th of August 2023 at the board room,

Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.

The objectives of the event are to enhance Archaeology, art, and architectural knowledge and disseminate the updated research results to those who are interested in Archaeological findings.

Professor Pia Brancaccio of the Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA was the chief guest and delivered the keynote speech of the event.
