The Global Sporting Mosaic 2023 Research Conference, held in collaboration with the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka,
and the Research Center within the same faculty, as well as Kanazawa and Chukyo Universities of Japan, successfully concluded on 4th September 2023. This significant event took place at the Board Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.
The main objective of the conference was to strengthen the progression of sports in Sri Lanka by setting up a platform for the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes among undergraduate students specializing in Sports and Recreation Management in the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya.
Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, graciously served as the Chief Guest of the research conference. The event was chaired by Senior Lecturer Dr. Charika Wickramarathne, Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The research conference was graced by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Professor M. M. Gunatilake, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor A. G. Amarasinghe, Director of the Research Center of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer M. K. A. Anoma Ratnayaka, Head of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, alongside various Academics and Students dedicated to pursuing honors degrees in Sports and Recreation Management, Professor Tetsuya Sagawa from Kanazawa University, Professor Shohei Kokudo, Professor Tohiru Koizo, and Professor Takahiro Nakano, Professors, Academics, and Students, undergraduate students specializing in Health and Sports Science from Chukyo University and undergraduate students of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education from Chukyo University in Japan.
