The Certificate Awarding of the Junior Staff Development Programme of the Faculty of Social Sciences for the academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 was held on July 15, 2025, at the Dean’s Office of Faculty of Social Sciences. 

Temporary Lecturers and Temporary Demonstrators of the faculty, who had successfully completed the Junior Staff Development Program, were awarded a certificate of completion by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor M. M. Gunathilake, who graced the occasion with the Faculty Coordinator for the Junior Staff Development Programme, Dr. Chamila Siriwardene of the Department of Philosophy.

The event also witnessed the unveiling of the new issue of ‘Samāja Vimarśana’, an academic volume published by the junior staff members of the Faculty of Social Sciences. This newest issue was presented to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences by Dr. Chamila Siriwardene, Chief Editor, and the Editors, Mr. Sudesh Dissanayake, Mr. Kishan Chaleendra Amarasinghe, Mr. M. G. Promod Tharaka and Ms. P. G. N. Somarathne.
