A workshop for the school teachers of Political Science organized by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Science, University of Kelaniya was held on the 12th of October 2018 at the Kularathna Hall of Ananda National College, Chilaw.

The workshop was organized with the objective of discussing issues regarding the new syllabus with the school teachers and the school teachers of Political Science from both Puttlam and Chilaw regions participated in the event.

The event was held under the patronage of Senior Lecturer Terance Purasinghe, Head- Department of Political Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Senior Lecturer Yamuna Mendis, Department of Political Science, University of Kelaniya. Mr. Saddhamangala Subasinghe, Zonal Director of Education- Chilaw, Ms. C.I. Sujeewika, Zonal Director of Education- Puttlam graced the event. Moreover, academic staff members of the Department of Political Science, University of Kelaniya also participated in the event.

The Department of Political science provided their assistance to this workshop which was held through the sponsorship of ‘University Image Building Project’.

The teachers who expressed their ideas about the workshop mentioned that it was a great opportunity to solve their issues regarding the subject matter.
