A workshop on History and Archaeology organized by the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was held on the 05^th of July 2019 at the Humbuluwa Central College, Alawwa. It was organized with the objective of celebrating the National Archaeology Day and 60^th anniversary of the University of Kelaniya.

Present at the occasion were Senior Prof. Anura Manatunga, Director- Centre for Heritage Studies, Senior Lecturer, Dr. Mangala Katugampola, Head- Department of Archaeology, Senior Lecturer Dr. Chandima Bogahawatta, Senior Lecturer Shriyani Hathurusinghe, Senior Lecturer Nilanthi Bandara, academic staff members and undergraduates of the department.
