The Inauguration Ceremony of Diploma in Disaster Management - 08^th Intake offered by the Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was  held on 21^st 0f December, 2019 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences. 

Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. J.M.A.R. Jayarathna, Deputy Director- Disaster Management Centre delivered the keynote speech as the Honourable Guest.

Moreover, Lecturer Mangala Jayarathne, Coordinator- Diploma in Disaster Management, the academic staff members of the Department of Geography & Diploma students participated the event.
