Ms. B. S. L. Mendis, Ms. W. A. M. R. Wijesuriya, Ms. T. G. I. T. T. Gamage, and Ms. H. M. N. Rathnayakaa, students at the University of Kelaniya has achieved the 2^nd place in Women’s 4x400m Relay at the Track & Field Championship

of the XIV SLUG 2023 organized by the Eastern University of Sri Lanka, which was held at 19th and 20th August 2023 at Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo.

They achieved this position by showcasing a performance of 4:11.19, demonstrating their athleticism, and determination. This achievement also highlights the institution's commitment to sporting excellence.

Prof. V. Kanagasingam was the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony and Prof. N. Rajeshwaran, President of the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) was the Guest of Honor. Fifteen universities have taken part in the Track and Field Championship of the XIV SLUG 2023.
