The staff women’s badminton team emerged victorious at the Ambassadors Cup Invitational Universities Badminton Championship 2024, held from the 14^th to 16^th of August 2024 at the University of Colombo.

Competing against teams from various state universities across the country, the team of the University of Kelaniya showcased exceptional prowess on the court, ultimately securing first place in the prestigious tournament. Dr. Sulochani Ramanayaka secured the best player award of the women’s category.

The team consisted of four team members including, Dr. Sulochani Ramanayaka, Dr. Lanka Ranaweera, Ms. M. I. P. Kumari, and Ms. Sarani Godamune.
